Week 8 at Intermode: Strategy, Storytelling & Start-Up Lessons

Week 8 at Intermode: Strategy, Storytelling & Start-Up Lessons

This week at Intermode was all about refining ideas, staying adaptable, and learning from those a few steps ahead in the game.

On the content side, I stayed in close contact with one of our engineers about capturing 3D printing footage using the internal camera setup. This is part of a behind-the-scenes post I’m planning to highlight the production side of our robots.

I also pitched a new idea to my supervisor: a carousel-style LinkedIn post that showcases the different ways our robots can solve everyday problems. The goal is to make their real-world utility more relatable and visual to our audience.

Our weekly employee spotlight series stayed on track, and I continued pushing forward on the design front. After exploring multiple options for redesigning the wrap of our robots, and a few dead ends, we finally found someone who delivered over the weekend! I had also presented my supervisor with a few alternate directions to consider, so it was great to see that come together.

One of the more exciting moments this week came from a bit of mystery marketing. I posted a blurred image of a new development and asked our followers to guess what it was. That curiosity worked! Two people even reached out to my supervisor directly to ask what he’s working on.

To ride the momentum, I also planned out a reel concept that follows a current social media trend, which I'm looking forward to making with the team next week.

From the Digital Summer Clinic side, I attended our weekly cohort and all-hands meetings. This week’s all-hands featured a panel called Start-Up Stories, where we heard from three accomplished entrepreneurs: Al Houry, Shantonio Birch, and Amer Abhgaida. Each speaker shared unique insights, but one theme stood out: the importance of finding a mentor in your field.

With just a couple weeks left in the internship, I’m excited to keep the momentum going and end strong!
